Google Slack’ed Off

Time to pick up the pieces for Google. After announcing over a year ago of their software called “Slack”, it was never publically talked about.

With Slack, Google system administrators build changes or patches against the source control system for configuration. These changes are checked into the central repository, and then to the “Slackmaster”, which Still says is “nothing special”, just an rsync server.

This this complex (yet simple) system, Google is able to move in a much more agile way around on the network. You can read the full article below, some really good insight to their infrastructure.
