Googlizing ASU

ASU has officially converted over to Google. This means quite a few things (which I’m jealous of — I wish my university had this.) ASU now uses Google account logins for their e-mail, IM, collaboration, basically with everything they need hooks in with Google. Using various APIs to hook in to all the systems, ASU was able to convert their accounts over from whatever system they were using before to a full integration into Google.

But wait, it gets even better. How long did it take for them to fully integrate this sytem? 2 weeks. Wait, seriously? Only 2 weeks? Wow, that’s very impressive. Every university should do this. I’m definitely going to forward it on to my network administrator about this.

ASU now offers this Google integration service to all 65,000 students at the school.

Score One for the Sun Devils
