Microsoft has signed a deal with Blinkx.TV to power their video search. With all the talks of YouTube and Google signing all these deals and making huge strides ahead of Microsoft, they felt it was time to get into the arena and play. Microsoft has really been out of the search industry for a while now. They have a decent search engine, but for a while their ad network was being powered by Google. Microsoft wants to get into the video industry now because they feel like they could make some money doing it. With Windows as the most used operating system (88.5%) in the world, they easily have the visibility to do it. Microsoft needs to step up the coding and start producing more user-friendly products that people want to use.
