Do you think Internet privacy is bad today? Look back on what it was 9 years ago. Things still haven’t changed all that much. Nearly as long as the Internet has been around, the gov’t has been trying to keep an eye on things. Gates sends this email to Dave Winer, addressing the issue of security in software.
