Websense Uses Google Too

InformationWeek.com reports that researchers within the Websense company have started to figure out how to determine malware from within the Google index. Not too long ago, Google started indexing executable files within their database which it finds on websites. Using the new tools which Websense created to use the Google index, Websense will now be able to determine which files contain malware.
As always, there are pros and cons to this new solution.
“Sure, there’s a downside to this,” said Hubbard. “Malware writers, if they figured out how to do this, could [search for and] download malcode from multiple sites, maybe even see what kind of strings they should put in, or not put in, their binaries.”
