There is a synergy being generated between organic search results and base search results, just in time for the holidays. Christmas is just around the corner and Google is getting ready for a big push to sell products to consumers (B2C).

Google.com can already detect if someone is looking for real estate to buy, and asks users to refine their queries before delivering listings from Google Base. Thus, the plan outlined at the PESA conference would apparently be a significant extension of this existing feature toward multiple product categories. PC Advisor

Google can already detect a lot of searches for what the user is generally looking for which really helps make search more efficient. There is a music search which will display music related information for an artist or album, there is a converter for values, and there are dozens of other auto-detected functions. Product search will be the next huge push because it will drive a ton more traffic to Google Base which in the end will drive a lot more sales to the stores in the database.
