For all the reports that have been going around that AOL has been developing their own search engine, well, they aren’t true. There is a beta preview of AOL’s new search and it’s yes, powered by Google still. It has the search history, which doesn’t appear to be account based out-right, but cookie based or session based instead. The search engine result pages don’t appear to be the same as the main Google index though. I tried a few keywords and they show some different rankings between the beta preview of AOL and the Google index.
