I’ve been using Windows Vista for about 24 hours now and I’m not entirely impressed by it. They’ve taken a much more OS X feel to it, but it’s a little bit confusing at first. They’ve expanded things and moved them around, but one thing I was looking forward to was the added search functionality. I don’t notice any difference in the search functionality, so I’m mildly disappointed with this. There were some added backgrounds and default screensavers, but nothing huge that I can think of that is completely different. The start menu acts a little different, but not a whole lot. Can’t say I’m eagerly looking forward to the final release of it.

I’m eager to give Vista a try, atm I don’t have the hardware to test it on, nor a copy of RC1. But I’m looking forward to a new OS experience.

You can download Windows Vista RC1 for free, it’s a DVD iso that you can burn to CD. That’s what I did, then just got a CD key for free. It expires June 2007, but I figure by then I’ll have upgraded again or gone back to WinXP, depends how much I like or dislike Vista.
