Google Signs a Deal With eBay

eBay initially banned Google’s new payment service — Google Checkout — but they recently released some news that the two companies have agreed on an advertising deal to serve ads in both the US and non-US portions of eBay.

The fear part of the equation is also tangentially related to money. eBay paid more than $2.5 billion for Skype. It hasn’t done anything with the product, and I think it realized that alone it probably never would. Google Talk, Google’s IM and VoIP client, will work side by side with Skype in the click-to-call advertising scheme. Tech effect

A really interest proposition for eBay and Google to work together side-by-side in a VOIP effort to dominate the industry. Google has developed a great client, Google Talk, but it’s not that widely used. With the improvements to work with Skype — whom eBay bought early last year for nearly $2.5 billion — Google and eBay have a good line-up.
